FELT STAR WARS FINGER PUPPETS

For my husband's name day my son and I made a special surprise. As he is a Star Wars fan and my son is a massive wannabe Star Wars fan (he hasn't seen it yet) we made him a Star Wars themed gift. I sewed some of the Star Wars characters and my son made the Millennium Falcon (or as my son calls it 'Milano Falcon')  out of a shoebox, a bottle cap, a toilet roll and some pudding cups. My hubby was so impressed!

MONSTER TOOTHFAIRY PILLOW # 3

I made this monster tooth fairy pillow for our nephew for his upcoming 6th birthday. The body is made from the weird red sweater that was used to make the valentines day makeup bag.

The photo of the monster does not show it, but instead of a loop I used two separate pieces of ribbon at the top so that he can attach it more easily to where ever he wishes to.

DINOSAUR SOFTY in Dinosaur Egg

On the way home from buying my first bigger batch of felt material, I asked my son what he would like to make from it. His answer: "A Dinosaur!....a dinosaur who can climb out of an egg!" And this is what we came up with:

I made the egg, but the dinosaur was a joint project: I cut out the shape he wanted (T-rex) from felt. He did the stitching along the side of the dino and I added the teeth, eyes and sewed on the wave ribbon. This sort of stitching is quite easy for kids to manage, and he was so proud of his work! As was I!
The wave could also have been sewn in between the two layers of felt, but that would have been very difficult for my little man.

MONSTER TOOTH FAIRY PILLOW #2

I made this monster as a birthday gift for one of my son's school friends...as they are both 6 I suspect this is one of many that I will make for upcoming birthday parties. I sewed a single layer of yellow felt triangles to make the horns/ears between the front and back side and stitched the sides of the horns with green felt just for decoration. Because sewing 4 layers of felt is quite difficult- when making the eyes- I first sewed the black layer on the light green, then the light green onto the white and finally the white of the eye onto the dark green body.

FELT HOT WHEELS COZY FITS 4 I fould the turorial here http://icecreamandboys.blogspot.com/2010/08/hot-wheel-cozy-tutorial.html   the one in the tutorial is a bit different (ok mainly much neater than mine, but we must keep in mind that this one is all hand sewn... :))

You can fold it up and hook the ribbon and can pop it in your bag if you want to take it with you
folds out into a play-mat. My son asked that I add a film studio as a destination for his cars..:)

MONSTER TOOTH FAIRY PILLOW with pocket in the back. Now all we need is for those teeth to start falling... I made this last week when my son started complaining that one of his teeth hurt with a glimmer of hope in his eyes :)
